Scott R. Stoll, M.D. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Scott R. Stoll was born and raised in La Porte, Colorado. In high school, he was an accomplished three sport athlete and valedictorian of his graduating class. He attended Colorado State University located in Fort Collins, Colorado and in 1991 he graduated with honors receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nutritional Sciences.

During his collegiate years Dr. Stoll was a gifted athlete receiving many awards and honors. Due to his exceptional athletic ability, he was selected to participate as a member of the 1993 World Champion Bobsled Team and as a member of the 1994 United States Olympic Bobsled Team which competed in the Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway. These Olympic opportunities helped to shape Dr. Stoll’s future interest in physical and rehabilitation medicine. As a former Olympian, Dr. Stoll was selected to be a torchbearer for the 2002 Winter Games held in Salt Lake City, Utah.

When his time as an Olympian came to a close, Dr. Stoll began his medical career at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1994. While a medical student at the University of Colorado, Dr. Stoll established himself as an exemplary student leader in various volunteer capacities such as: Camp Quality, Children’s Legacy (a non-profit organization for children with cancer) and President of Christian Health Fellowship. As a further example of his dedication to patients and colleagues he was nominated and selected to receive the prestigious Richard Hardin Award: “For the medical student who most represents the qualities to which all Physicians should aspire: love, compassion, integrity and responsibility to patients, colleagues and self.”

After completion of medical school, he commenced his medical internship in Internal Medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital located in Denver, Colorado followed by a two-year residency specialty at the University of Colorado, Denver in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. While in his residency program at the University of Colorado, he was once again recognized for his excellence in the area of patient care and was awarded the Dr. Ann Yee Johnson Memorial Award: “For the resident who exemplified the qualities of thoroughness, motivation, caring, compassion, efficiency, and professionalism.”

Dr. Stoll joined Coordinated Health Systems in August of 2002 where he facilitates the practice as the Medical Director of the Back and Neck Center and is the Department Chair of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Stoll is board certified by the American Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and conducts numerous presentations regarding physical and rehabilitation medicine annually at various symposiums.

At present, Dr. Stoll is one of the few nationally recognized physicians conducting investigational research using the Palomar Laser and is currently focusing his efforts in the area of regeneration and restoration of injured tissue through non-surgical treatment. As a former Olympian, Dr. Stoll is well suited for his additional role as the athletic team physician for Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and a consultant for the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation.

Dr. Stoll and his wife, Kristen, reside in Saucon Valley, Pennsylvania with their three sons, where they are actively involved in many church and community organizations.

 

J. E. Kooch, D.O. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Kooch completed his undergraduate education as a Mountaineer at West Virginia University, School of Medicine. He then traveled north to snowy Buffalo for two years of graduate work at The University of Buffalo, School of Public Health and Health Professionals. For the past eight years, prior to coming to the Lehigh Valley, he called Chicago home. He obtained is Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University, The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine; his medical internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital; then his specialty training in Musculoskeletal Medicine at the Number 1 rehabilitation hospital in the country, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Dr. Kooch is a member of number professional societies relating to Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine, and Spine care. His accomplishments include published works, research awards, and teaching credits.

 

Steven Mazza, M.D. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Mazza is Board Certified Physiatrist with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a graduate of UMDNJ- New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. He completed his internship at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ and residency at JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison, NJ. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the North American Spine Society and the International Spinal Injection Society. Dr. Mazza specializes in all areas of musculoskeletal injuries including occupational medicine, personal injury and sports medicine. Dr. Mazza is the Team Physiatrist for Lafayette College in Easton, Pa and one of the area high schools. As a member of the Back and Neck Center team, Dr. Mazza has a special focus on back and neck pain and injury. He currently practices in our East Stroudsburg office and makes his home, with his wife and son, in the Poconos.

Brian Goldberg, M.D. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Goldberg attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia , followed by medical school at the New York University School of Medicine, in New York City .

He completed his internship at the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY followed by his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rusk Institute, part of the New York University Medical Center.

Dr. Goldberg then completed his Spine Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Spine Institute, in Cleveland , Ohio .

Training at the UCLA Helms Medical Institute course for medical acupuncture, Dr. Goldberg strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. His background brings an exciting new dimension to the comprehensive services provided at the Back and Neck center. His unique expertise is the perfect compliment to his non-operative interventional spine training.

Paul F. Duffy, D.C. Chiropractor

Dr. Duffy has been serving the Lehigh Valley since 1989. He began the Chiropractic Division at Coordinated Health in 1994. He has been a part of the interdisciplinary team of specialists since then, bringing musculoskeletal excellence to the Lehigh Valley and eastern PA. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and a magna cum laude graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. He did his post-graduate training in chiropractic orthopedics through Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. His special interests lie in acute injury care and sports medicine. He serves as Team Chiropractor for Lehigh University and has been active in Lehigh Athletics for nearly ten years. In addition, Dr. Duffy serves as consultant on numerous high school athletic training staffs, and is a panel physician for numerous local companies. He furthers the profession of chiropractic by serving roles in state leadership through the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association.

 

Kurt E. Brzezinski, D.C. Chiropractor

Dr. Brzezinski is a graduate of Rutger's University and New York Chiropractic College, and has post-graduate training in Chiropractic Rehabilitation. Dr. Brzezinski has extensive experience in treating spinal conditions arising from work and sports injuries as well as whiplash and motor vehicle accidents. As a member of the Back and Neck center team, Dr. Brzezinski provides chiropractic treatment for various conditions related to the spine and associated soft tissue. Dr. Brzezinski is a member of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association and American Chiropractic Association, as well as the American Back Society.

 

 

James Liott, D.C. Chiropractor

Dr. Liott is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University at University Park and New York Chiropractic College. He began his chiropractic career at a multidisciplinary and rehabilitation facility in Rockville, Maryland. During that time, Dr. Liott treated both amateur and professional athletes from the Washington, D.C. area. In March of 2001, he joined the Chiropractic Division of the Back and Neck Center at Coordinated Health.

Being a certified provider of Active Release Technique for the spine, upper extremity, and lower extremity, Dr. Liott has extensive knowledge and experience in treating nerve, muscle, and joint related injuries with conservative care. Dr. Liott has been a treating chiropractor at the Maryland State Amateur Tae Kwon Doe Championships, Washington D.C.’s Marine Corp Marathon, and most recently at the 2006 Ironman World Champioship in Kona, Hawaii.

Dr. Liott has post-graduate training in treating whiplash and motor vehicle collision injuries. He is also a panel physician for numerous companies in the Lehigh Valley and Pocono areas. As a member of the Back and Neck Center team, Dr. Liott provides chiropractic care for joint, muscle, disc, and nerve related injuries in the East Stroudsburg and Easton offices.

 

Sergio Rudoi, PAC - Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Sergio Rudoi, PAC completed his undergraduate studies in Science at Allentown College, in Center Valley. In 2001, he went on to complete his masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies at DeSales University. Sergio worked in orthopedics here at Coordinated Health as a Physician Assistant for 1 year prior to changing specialties to Physical Medicine and Rehab focusing in spine care. He also holds and Associate degree in Radiologic Studies and practiced as a Radiologic Technician for 6 years prior to attending PA school.
On a personal note, Sergio was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He came to the Lehigh Valley in 1998. Growing up he was an avid hockey player and football enthusiast. Though he only plays sports sparingly now, he still follows hockey and football with a passion. Sergio currently enjoys weight lifting, running, and walking his two greyhounds. His goal for this year is to learn kayaking with his wife.
